Noticed today that my website is down - so I redirected the URL to my old blog for now. There are some images in the posts - the videos are no longer working because they are seriously OUTDATED!!!

I am working on getting things updated. So please be patient while I get things working again I will have a brand NEW website soon. If you are interested in booking a session with me - please contact me as I am booking for spring of 2012!

At this time I am not accepting commissions for Lora J. Photography. Mid June I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. My surgery was successful on July 19th. With the help of friends and family - I have stayed positive throughout this difficult time. I am still under treatment and need various other testing done for other issues related to breast cancer and once I have fully recovered - Lora J. Photography will be back in FULL SWING! Thank you for your prayers and well wishes.

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing the ~B~ family again. Last year we had a fun session @ Fort Smallwood here in Pasadena. I love when clients have their own ideas of what they want for their session. I am up for pretty much anything! I brought my gear to Reddemeade Farms in Silver Spring Maryland - where Jeff (Dad) maintains the wonderful location. It was so picturesque and perfect for their family charm/character.

Jennifer & John Wed!

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing Jennifer and John for their wedding. Last year I also did their engagement session @ Sandy Pointe with Ryan from RaRaPhoto and he was also my assistant (2nd) for their wedding. Their wedding ceremony (full catholic mass) was held at St. Clement & the reception was at the gorgeous Grand Lodge in Cockeysville, MD.

Belle's Room

Late last year I had the opportunity to visit my clients home to see what she had done with her portraits purchased from me when Belle was a newborn.
Belle was such a trooper showing me her beautifully decorated room!

Linda & Bill Wedding

You may remember the engagement session with the lovely couple Linda & Bill and their oh so cute dogs I did late last year. I am finally getting around to posting my favorite wedding images taken on their special day in January. Linda & Bill's wedding was my first of the year - and what a way to kick the season off! They had their ceremony in the Baltimore Bascilica

and their reception in the World Trade Center.

Candice & John Engagement Session in DC

Long time no blog. I have been swamped here at the office! Who ever said that February and March were slow for photographers? Here is one of my latest sessions done in Washington DC. Candice and John met with me at the Lincoln Memorial for their awesome Engagement session. We had so much fun! This is the first time I have actually been there. I have lived in Maryland for over 8 years and even worked in DC for a few years and never ventured in that direction. Wow - it is beautiful! I can't wait to visit more of DC this summer.

Alyssa is Back

Alyssa came back to Maryland! She was on a short tour in Seattle with her grandparents while her Mom & Dad were protecting and serving our US of A in Iraq. This family is wonderful! We have history from when Alyssa was in her mommies belly! Creating portraits for Johnny and Jennifer is always a treat. We started out in the studio to do some high key and low key portraits - then moved as quickly as we could outdoors for some quick portraits.

Sandra's Sexy Tattoo Mini Session

This week my gorgeous friend (Sandra) visited with me to do a very sexy mini tattoo session. We had lots of fun getting creative shots of her tattoo. The main goal of this session was to get a large print for her husband's "Man Room". What an awesome Valentines gift for any hubby. Here are a select few from our session!

I have been photographing Journey since she was a little bitty newborn. It is great to capture this very cute and fun loving little girl. I also get the added benefit of photographing her family at each session. She has two fantastically fun brothers Jackson and Jaeden. They have the eyes and smiles that would make any one just want to squeeze them with hugs! I love when the entire family LOVES to be photographed. My passion is to capture "life" and this family certainly shows that passion and love they have in "family" in each and every photograph - whether it is a traditional portrait or a fun edgy portrait.

For the holidays - Monica from "The Smile Collector Photography" and I swapped family sessions. I thought this was a fantastic idea, since I am hardly ever in family photos.

Been away too long

So it has been way too long since I posted in my blog. A lot of fun and exciting things are coming this year for Lora J. Photography. I wanted to thank everyone that has been with me since the start!
There are going to be several posts within the next few weeks explaining all of the new happenings!
Here is a quick video from a Christening that I did late last year for Journey. She is such a doll. I will also be posting the Christmas family session that I did as well.
Cynthia and Julius invited me to photograph Journey's christening at Mount Tabor United Methodist Church in Crownsville, MD. This quaint historical church was a beautiful setting for this joyous occasion.

So 2009 is here! My how the time flies. I hope that everyone had a fantastic holiday season.
My family and I traveled to NC for the holidays to enjoy some festivities with my husband James' family. It was unbelievably warm there (almost 80 degrees). Of course I come back to good ol' MD and get sick. My son unfortunately had Bronchitis while we were in NC and it was no fun at all. As a Mom - you wish that you can take on all that pain upon yourself and make them feel better...
Well, I didn't get as much work done as I wanted to with all that was going on. I will be posting some new fun images soon from a session I traded with Monica from The Smile Collector Photography.

I am a huge music fan (of all sorts) - and karaoke nut. Yes, I admited to that...

Here is a video that I found interesting - Mandy Moore doing her own cover of the very popular Rihanna song - Umbrella. I found it interesting - check out some of the other videos on Yahoo's Music site - they have tons of other covers done - including All American Rejects doing a cover of Britney Spears song - Womanizer - it is very interesting.

Maternity sessions - I love them - in studio or on location. A couple of weeks ago - I had the lovely opportunity to photograph these gorgeous cousins who are due around the same time - Tiffani & Tara. I had the great opportunity to photograph a friend of mine - Kimi - as she ventured into mommy hood. She traveled far to get this fun session in the studio done. Kimi - Congrats on the birth of your first born daughter - hopefully there will be many more beautiful babies to come for you!

Alyssa & Erik Wed

A couple of weeks ago I had the fantastic opportunity to photograph Alyssa and Erik's wedding. I knew from the moment that I met the couple that we were going to work GREAT together. We also did an engagement session this past summer and had a blast! Alyssa and Erik's ceremony was held in Baltimore's Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. This church is gorgeous! I am a big fan of this type of architecture (since I grew up mainly in Europe and fell in love with photography based on this architecture...).
Their stunning Black and White reception was held at the Marriott in Camden Yards. Every detail was as classy as Alyssa and Erik! I especially enjoyed their Jazz band. Here are the long awaited Teaser images (video). Congratulations Alyssa and Erik - Thank you for allowing me to capture your most special day - I look forward to one day capturing future little Alyssa's and Erik's to come...
