Lindsay & PaulThis entry was posted on 10/1/2008 3:34 PM and is filed under Weddings. A couple of weeks ago I photographed a wedding at Quiet Waters Park in the Blue Heron Room (Annapolis). It was a nice intimate wedding ceremony and reception. Lindsay has to be the most laid back bride I have photographed to date! I loved her carefree style and elegance. Paul graduated from the Naval Academy in Annapolis, so it was only natural to do some of their portraits at the Academy. Since there was limited time available, Lindsay and Paul opted to do the portraits before the ceremony. I LOVED IT! We didn't have to rush about trying to get in as many artistic images captured within a small window. Both the Bride and Groom were relaxed - and well, that relaxes me too...
I proposed for Lindsay and Paul to have a first meeting and I would capture it as it happened. Paul was in the Gazebo in front of the Naval Academy Cathedral turned awaiting for Lindsay to tap his shoulder as they first see each other. It was beautiful! ![]() ![]() ![]() Lindsay and I scouted the location before the big day and found this lovely stairwell. It was interesting getting this shot because classes were getting out at the time. ![]() I want a door like this to my home... ![]() We scuttled over to another one of the Naval Academy Halls and I had to do my signature kiss shot from below. ![]() I love the detail that this building has. Very distinct and strong. ![]() Lindsay and Paul kept their bridal party very simple too. Only their best at their sides... Here is Lindsay with her "Man" of Honor - her brother Ryan. ![]() Here is Paul with his Best Man - his brother Dave. ![]() Some serious stair climbing was involved with this one. Thanks Lindsay and Paul for being such great sports! ![]() Here is a fun bridal party shot! ![]() The center pieces for the reception tables were chic and elegant. The glass votives were draped within the branches. ![]() It rained most of the day - but we made the best of it. During Mother Nature's short break, we ventured into the garden to take a quick shot. ![]() The cake didn't know what was coming - Paul and Lindsay used a sword to cut it! Lindsay used a family heirloom as the cake topper. ![]() Rings - such sweet sweet details... ![]() This kid was tearing it up on the dance floor! ![]() This image was captured with NO FLASH! D3 was set to ISO2500, f2.8 @ 1/15th sec. ![]() I love the intimate weddings. I know when James and I renew our vows, it will be a lot like this. Thank you Lindsay and Paul for allowing me to capture this beautiful day for you two. CommentsDisplay comments as (Linear | Threaded)
