A couple of weeks ago Monica and I headed over to the Sacred Heart Church in Glyndon to photograph Karen and Doug's wedding.  This was the start of a whirlwind day.  The story started with a debacle about Karen's ring.  Back a few months ago, I also photographed Karen and Doug for their engagement session.  We had to reschedule a couple of times because the ring had cracks in it and Karen wanted to make sure that the ring was good for the shoot.  The jeweler did not get the ring back to her in time, in fact, she didn't get the ring back until the DAY BEFORE the wedding!  How stressful!  They went to WhiteMarsh mall to pick up the ring, and yes, another obstacle in the way, a water main broke in the area and so they had to shut down the mall.  I hear about all of this mess (poor Karen), at the rehearsal that I also attended. 



Doug had to enlist the help of a friend to pick up the ring EARLY in the morning the day of the actual wedding.  PHEW, everything went well and the ring arrived safely before the ceremony. 

But wait... there's more - Doug went to pick up the Tux's for the wedding the day before, and some of them did not fit!  So they had to go back the day of the wedding to also pick them up.

We all crammed into Karen's room to help her get the dress on.

We headed to the church and awaited the start of the ceremony...





This church was very unique.  I love how high the ceilings are.




The flower girl loved blowing the bubbles as they all awaited the new Mr. and Mrs. to come out.




This is one FUN bridal party!








The bridal suite was a gorgeous setting for some quick intimate portraits of Doug and Karen.





I love messy cake cuttings - they are hilarious!




Karen and Doug thought of EVERYTHING - down to the awesome bride and groom toilet paper!



I loved their cake topper - so much so that I had to steal their rings during the reception and capture this keepsake.





A dear friend of Karen's recently passed away and she wanted to honor her and remember her on her special day.



The girls are STRONG - they lifted Karen up and celebrated her special day.

It was quite clever to use her sash as a makeshift limbo stick.

During the last dance, Monica captured this intimate and emotional moment.


I hope that Karen and Doug are enjoying their honeymoon!  I wish them all the best ~ thank you for choosing me to capture your very special day.
